know everything you need about Ephesus and benefit of the extra visit to the basilica of Saint John, constructed during the days of the Emperor Justinian

This tour combines a visit to the archaeological site of Ephesus, the Terrace Houses and Basilica of Saint John.  After your disembarkation from the ship, you will be transferred to Ancient Ephesus and follow the guide to an educative guided tour through the ruins. You will see the Magnesian Gate, the Odeon, a small theatre , the Celsus Library, the Temple of Hadrian and the Fountain of Trajan. The pool of the fountain was surrounded by columns and statues , most of them now reconstructed.  The last venue is the Great Amphitheatric Theatre that holds a 24.000 seats capacity and was used by Apostle Paul for preaching the Bible.

Your next stop is allocated to the “House of the rich” , Terrace Houses. There were two-floored houses that provided their residents with special accommodations such as hot water and a central heating system. The houses were also decorated with hand-made frescos on the walls.

The final venue to be visited is the Basilica of St.John. The church was built by Emperor Ioustinian and was dedicated to Saint John, the Apostle. Marble columns remain until today from the church which was built in the form of Basilica, a very popular architectural design of Christianity.
