This tour is dedicated to the city of Bodrum. After meeting the guide at Bodrum port, you will head to the Bodrum castle, built by the Knights during the 15th century AC. The Knights used columns made of marble, volcanic stones and remains from the Mausoleum of Mausolos to build their fortress. The castle was used by the knights of Rhodes as a last refuge from the persecution by the Turks but the castle fell in 1522. It had been abandoned until the Turkish government used it as museum of Underwater archaeology.   All the remainings found is the bottom of the sea around the area, such as ancient clay vases (amphoris) also metallic items of domestic and polemic use, are exposed to the museum.

After your visit to the castle, you will go on with your sightseeing to the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus. The Mausoleum was a temple-like tomb dedicated to Mausolus , built by his wife, Artemisia. The structure was so impressive that was pronounced by the poet Antipater as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. You will walk through the ruins and then visit the amphitheatric theatre and enjoy an impressive view to the city and the fortress.
